What is Acumatica?

Acumatica is a rapidly growing cloud-based ERP system. While a lot of ERP systems are moving to cloud-based platforms, Acumatica stands out as it has a clear continuous improvement strategy: two releases each year. When you hear, "Acumatica 2025 R1" and "Acumatica 2025 R2" for example, the "R" is referring to "Release 1" and "Release 2." The first release in the beginning of the year, and the second release later in the year.

Where does Acumatica get its data on things that need to change? That information comes from several places, but where we (as users) fit in, they pull our input - Suggestions, Ideas, Questions - from the Acumatica Community. Acumatica believes in freely educating its users and partners - Partners being Valued Acumatica Resellers (VARs). VARs act as the bridge between the Acumatica client and Acumatica itself, although clients can log support cases directly with Acumatica if necessary.

Acumatica also has a robust self-learning resource called Acumatica Open University. This resource includes video demonstrations, PDF documentation for definitions and Process Activities, files for training, and Learning Paths. This documentation combined with the Community resource makes Acumatica a stand-out ERP that many businesses use to thrive and grow.

If you're interested in what you see in my videos and demonstrations about using Acumatica, you can use it for free. That's the beauty. Acumatica will allow you to "try it out" by downloading it to your local machine and playing around with the sample/demo data available for sales demonstrations, training, etc. This section will guide you on how to get started.

Acumatica Builds

As I mentioned in the 'What is Acumatica?' section above, Acumatica has two releases per year (R1 and R2). Within those releases, they work hard to gather important feedback from the community and Support Cases to refine and improve each release. While I'm happy to be a stand-alone consultant managing this site, one of the things I found in working with Acumatica is an overwhelming presence of constructive teamwork among end-users and . Resellers work together (even though they're technically competitors), the Community collaboration and dialogue is constructive, and there's a sense of "Everyone, put your guard down, we're going to figure this out together."
